Research Projects Management Technician (Post Award) (Ref: MGMT 2024-07)

The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Financial Project Management Technician. This position will be funded by NEXT-ICIQ project GPE2022-00953, funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033.

ICIQ is looking for a Financial Project Management technician to carry out top-level financial project management services from the Grant Agreement Preparation (GAP) stage until a project’s closure. The successful candidate will be able to offer a range of advice, support and financial project management servicer fir regional, national and EU funded projects including working in close collaboration with ICIQ researchers, scientific managers and research administration ensuring the successful implementation of the projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist Principal Investigators (PIs) with the financial management of European research projects.

• Carry out the management of a portfolio of funded R&D projects with regards to all administrative, contractual and financial matters.

• Check and monitor budget expenditure both at project and partner organisations’ level.

• Assist in the preparation of detailed interim and final financial reports.

• Project Coordination: Monitor the progress of expenditure of the project, anticipate possible problems, excellent communication with the PI and the project officer and participate in consortium meetings.

• Maintain a full awareness of ICIQ’s policies in relation to broader research and innovation related issues.

• Liaise with the Research Projects and International Collaborations Unit, Administrative support Unit, Human Resources Unit and Finance Department on matters relating to policy and procedure.

• Support the work of the Head of the Research Projects and Grants Management Unit as and when necessary.

Requirements

• University Degree
• Excellent organisation, communication (both oral and written) and time management skills
• Advanced level of English, Catalan and Spanish (written and spoken) is required
• Ability to work on strict deadlines and deliver high quality results
• Open-minded, highly dynamic and capable of working independently as well as in a team
• Good IT knowledge (Microsoft Office, SAP BO)
• Great attention to detail
• Proactive and enthusiastic personality
• Availability for occasionally travelling in Europe/Spain

Valued qualities:

• Experience on financial project management, particularly EU funded research collaborative projects, regional and national research projects funded by the AEI
• Experience dealing with audit requirements would be beneficial

Tècnic/a de Gestió de Projectes d'Investigació (Ref: MGMT 2024-07)

L'Institut Català d’Investigació Química (ICIQ) busca un/a Tècnic/a de Gestió de Projectes d'Investigació. Aquesta posició està finançada pel projecte NEXT-ICIQ, referència GPE2022-00953, finançat per MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033.

L'ICIQ és una de les principals institucions líders mundials reconegudes internacionalment en el camp de la química compromesa amb la resolució dels grans reptes socials i econòmics mitjançant la realització d'investigacions d'alta qualitat en tres àrees principals: Catàlisi Sostenible, Energies Renovables i Salut. L'institut també té com a objectiu formar la futura generació de científics oferint programes educatius d'alta qualitat a estudiants de màster, doctorat i investigadors postdoctorals (tots els detalls sobre ).

L'ICIQ busca un tècnic en Gestió de Projectes Financers per dur a terme serveis de gestió de projectes financers de primer nivell des de la fase de preparació de l'acord de subvenció (GAP) fins al tancament d'un projecte. El candidat seleccionat podrà oferir una sèrie d'assessorament, suport i gestió financera de projectes regionals, nacionals i finançats per la UE, incloent el treball en estreta col·laboració amb investigadors de l'ICIQ, gestors científics i administració de la investigació per garantir l'èxit de la implementació dels projectes.

Responsabilitats:

• Assistir els investigadors principals (IPs) amb la gestió financera de projectes de recerca europeus.
• Dur a terme la gestió d'una cartera de projectes d'R&D finançats en totes les qüestions administratives, contractuals i financeres.
• Comprovar i supervisar les despeses pressupostàries tant a nivell de projectes com d'organitzacions associades.
• Ajudar en l'elaboració d'informes financers provisionals i finals detallats.
• Coordinació del projecte: Supervisar el progrés de la despesa del projecte, anticipar-se a possibles problemes, una excel·lent comunicació amb el PI i l'oficial del projecte i participar en les reunions del consorci.
• Mantenir una plena consciència de les polítiques de l'ICIQ en relació amb qüestions més àmplies relacionades amb la recerca i la innovació.
• Interlocució amb la Unitat de Projectes de Recerca i Col·laboracions Internacionals, la Unitat de Suport Administratiu, la Unitat de Recursos Humans i el Departament de Finances en qüestions relacionades amb la política i el procediment.
• Donar suport a la tasca del Cap de la Unitat de Gestió de Projectes de Recerca i Ajuts quan sigui necessari.

Requisits

• Grau universitari
• Excel·lents habilitats d'organització, comunicació (tant oral com escrita) i gestió del temps
• Es requereix un nivell avançat d'anglès, català i castellà (escrit i parlat)
• Capacitat per treballar en terminis estrictes i oferir resultats d'alta qualitat
• De ment oberta, altament dinàmica i capaç de treballar de manera autònoma i en equip
• Bons coneixements de TI (Microsoft Office, SAP BO)
• Gran atenció al detall
• Personalitat proactiva i entusiasta
• Disponibilitat per viatjar ocasionalment a Europa/Espanya

Qualitats valorades:

• Experiència en gestió de projectes financers, especialment projectes de recerca finançats per la UE, projectes de recerca regionals i nacionals finançats per l'AEI
• L'experiència en el tractament dels requisits d'auditoria seria beneficiosa
