Job Purpose
The Logistics Control Tower Manager (f/m/d) at Straumann will be responsible for the strategic creation and leadership of a new Logistics Control Tower department. This pioneering role involves establishing the department from the ground up, overseeing the development and management of an integrated logistics control tower. Central to enhancing supply chain visibility, optimizing logistics processes, and improving decision-making, this role aligns with Straumann's commitment to exceptional customer service.
The Manager will possess a deep understanding of logistics and supply chain operations within the Straumann Group, forming strong relationships with internal stakeholders and ensuring that logistics initiatives are intricately aligned with the overarching Global SC Strategy.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Establish and Lead the Logistics Control Tower: Build and manage a new Logistics Control Tower Department from scratch, ensuring real-time visibility and control over the entire supply chain. A comprehensive end-to-end control tower, ensuring supply-to-deliver visibility, spanning from detailed scheduling at the operational sites to final mile distribution. This initiative will enable complete visibility of supply chain flows, inventory, and demand-supply management, ensuring 100% transparency and control.
- Team Building and Leadership: Recruit, train, and lead a dedicated team to manage the Logistics Control Tower, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and customer focus.
- Drive Innovation in Logistics Management: Utilize advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning for predictive logistics planning and response.
- Collaborative Cross-Functional Work: Partner with various departments including IT, operations, and customer service to streamline and optimize logistics processes. Conduct thorough analysis of existing supply chain processes and pinpoint opportunities for enhancement through digitalization. Streamline workflows and incorporate industry best practices to drive efficiency improvements.
- Project and Change Management: Spearhead logistics projects and manage change processes effectively, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with new logistics practices. In collaboration with key stakeholders, including IT – SAP, Data & Tech Teams, Data Analysts, and SC Excellence Team, to attain the desired outcomes and objectives.
- Supply Chain Analytics and Reporting: Develop KPIs and performance dashboards for strategic decision-making and continuous improvement in logistics operations.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the expert and primary process owner for the Logistics Control Tower, continually updating knowledge on industry trends and advancements.
Requirements Needed
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with a focus on digital transformation and innovation.
- Fluent in English; additional languages (German, French, Spanish, Portuguese) are advantageous.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes, with experience in digital solutions and team building.
- Understanding of customers' business and supply chain needs to design effective solutions.
- Proven track record in creating and leading new departments and managing logistics operations on a global scale.
- Familiarity with digital technologies and process design.
