About the role

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer proficient in database management, database testing, data migration, and automation, who is eager to learn, passionate about quality and technology, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You will be part of the QE team and will be responsible for building, testing, deploying, and executing comprehensive solutions to consistently deliver high-quality software releases.

About the team

Our Quality Engineers are well-versed in the various dimensions of the QA process, including manual, automated, accessibility, performance, and compatibility testing. With in-house automation testing training and multiple knowledge-sharing and upskilling initiatives, our QA experts help create the next generation of software testing professionals.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement data migration solutions to transfer data between systems
• Analyze existing data structures and develop strategies for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL)
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define data migration objectives
• Perform data profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Optimize data migration processes for performance, scalability, and reliability
• Document data migration procedures, including data mappings, transformations, and error handling
• Perform manual and automated testing processes to ensure data integrity and consistency during migration
• Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and caching mechanisms for improved performance
• Triage, diagnose, report, track, and resolve software quality issues related to database migration
• Identify required improvements in the test and development processes, contribute to automation tools, and successfully address specific needs
• Review and analyze business requirements and provide a technical perspective on approach, risk, and estimated development time
• Communicate effectively across multiple teams to ensure cohesion and collaboration
• Provide technical leadership and expertise to other team members

Requirements

• 4+ years of proven experience as a Software Engineer working on data migration projects
• 2+ years of experience working with MS SQL 2008R2/2012/2014
• Expert in using tools to profile SQL execution and optimize SQL code to achieve maximum performance
• Strong experience in database testing, preferably with MSSQL, IBM Db2, MariaDB, or SAP ASE/Sybase DB
• Good knowledge of database design, modeling, and database query execution optimization techniques
• Ability to adapt to and learn new technologies and concepts
• Excellent spoken and written English
