Job description
Our partner is a technology company that develops, produces and distributes innovative industrial metrology and quality control solutions for its customers in the automotive, aircraft, mechanical engineering and plastics industries.
We are looking for a Commissioning Applications Engineer in Robot Vision/Automation to join their team in Barcelona, where he/she will mainly support customers in the automotive industry.
Main duties:
- Participate in the project planning, installation and maintenance of automation measuring cells in production (including robotic).
- Support new and existing image processing systems, primarily in the automotive industry.
- Provide service and maintenance activities for existing measuring cells.
- Provide technical support in our demonstration image processing robotics lab.
- Startup automatic image processing systems, typically mounted on robots, at customer sites.
- Communicate customer changes and needs to supplier engineering (engineering/ manufacturing changes).
- Work with project managers in reviewing scope of work and obtain customer buy-off upon project completion.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications in order to actively develop and provide installation instructions and checklists in compliance with contract drawing, site coordination, and installation requirements.
Job requirements:
- Degree in electrical engineering, automation technology or mechanical engineering, or technical training and practical experience in a corresponding environment.
- Experience in providing turn-key systems with integration to external equipment.
- Robot training with certificate, 2-4 years' robotics experience preferred (ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, etc.).
- Basic knowledge in industrial metrology, vision systems and image processing.
- Knowledge of mechanical Assemblies, fixturing, tooling, industrial automation, PLC preferred.
- Advanced understanding of fieldbus interfaces and PC networks.
- Knowledge of technical controls and strong troubleshooting skills.
- Able to read and understand mechanical, electrical and controls drawings.
- Ability to perform as an instructor/ trainer for contractors and customers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to travel/work overtime/work any shift/work weekends.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English language, German is a plus.
- Place of residence in Barcelona.
- Driving licence.
