Job description

The Green Recruitment Company is looking for a Solar Technical Manager for a global IPP with a presence in over 10 countries. Role Overview:As a Solar Technical Manager, you will be in charge of providing support and expertise in technology, engineering, and asset integrity throughout all phases of the solar PV asset lifecycle. Your responsibilities will span acquisition, development, construction, and operation, ensuring that engineering decisions align with best practices. Lead the solar PV engineering and technology domain, addressing business requirements for assets at various stages and exploring M&A; opportunities. Develop, execute, and uphold effective management processes, guidelines, and standards on solar PV engineering. Perform engineering and technical due diligence for potential acquisition projects, collaborating closely with country teams. Act as the central coordinator for solar engineering and equipment-related issues, assisting country and corporate teams. Functioned as the technical lead for critical equipment supply, assisting Project Managers throughout diverse project phases. Collaborate with Performance and Asset Management teams to investigate the root causes of performance issues. Identify inventive solutions for operations, remote condition assessments, and preventative maintenance processes. Lead asset life assessments and formulate lifecycle management strategies for utility-scale PV assets. Participate in site visits and factory acceptance tests as necessary. Develop and maintain tools supporting the evaluation of DEVEX, CAPEX, and OPEX assumptions. Skills and Expertise:Hold a degree in electrical engineering or a relevant discipline. Demonstrate substantial experience and proficiency in solar PV, acquired from the development, engineering, and/or operation of utility-scale PV assets. (8-10 years). Possess thorough knowledge of PV technology and subsystems, including factors influencing PV plant performance. Have detailed familiarity with major component suppliers. Experience in EPC, O&M;, and equipment supply agreements, encompassing technical specifications, drafting annexes, evaluating proposals, and participating in negotiations. Ability to comprehend the technical implications of commercial objectives, coupled with an excellent understanding of technical inputs to Financial Models. Problem-solving skills with a commitment to implementing effective solutions. Exhibit excellent communication skills, capable of building relationships across diverse countries and cultures, and translating complex technical issues for non-technical audiences. Knowledge or expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) technologies is a plusWillingness to international travel.
