BNP Paribas Corporate & Institutional Banking provides large companies, multinationals and financial institutions with various solutions in the areas of advisory, financing, transactional banking, capital markets, settlement, clearing and custody of securities, asset and fund management services and solutions for corporate issuers. It has 620 professionals in Spain with offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Coruña. The entity has a network present in 56 countries.
MISSION
Reporting to the Head of Operational Transformation for Spain, the Security Manager is responsible, in coordination with the relevant stakeholders, for all the physical security topics regarding individuals (including travelers and expatriates), assets and activities for BNP Paribas.
The Security Manager must ensure the Security value chain: anticipation – prevention - protection – detection – reaction.
Whatever the level of delegation, the Security Manager is responsible for the physical security management and must deploy adequate controls when a delegation is in place.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Security Director responsibilities are the following (non-exhaustive):
- Private security (article 36 of the Law 5/2014, 4th of April)
- Organization, management, inspection and administration of available private security services and resources.
- Identification, analysis and evaluation of risk situations that may affect the lives and integrity of individuals and property.
- Planning, organizing and monitoring the actions needed to implement measures to prevent, protect and reduce the occurrence of risks of any kind with precise means and measures, through the development and development of the applicable security plans.
- Control of the operation and maintenance of private security systems.
- Interim validation, including verification, where appropriate, by the Administration, of security measures with regard to their compliance with private security regulations.
- Verification that private security systems installed and contracted private security companies meet the approval requirements of the competent bodies.
- Communication to the relevant Security Forces and Bodies of the circumstances or information relevant to the safety of citizens, as well as of the criminal facts known to them in the performance of their duties.
- Interlocution and liaison with the Administration, in particular with the Security Forces and Corps, regarding the integral security function of the entity, enterprise or business group contracted by them, in relation to policy performance on management.
- Verification of the staffing aspects required by the performance of the mandated functions to access areas or information to ensure the effective protection of the entity.
- Governance
- Organizing the physical security committee,
- Monitoring the physical security activities in a dashboard that helps the management to assess the adequacy of the physical security provisions to the risk,
- Coordinating globally the physical security with the Entities located in the Territory
- Risk analysis and monitoring
- Proposing changes in the territory risk rating, with at minimum every 6 months, a documented assessment,
- Monitoring the physical security risks and identifying the emerging new risks,
- Conducting regular assessments of the level of exposure and proposing appropriate remediation measures,
- Recording and analyzsing the physical security incidents.
- Control
- Contributing to the execution of the PPS control plans,
- Implementing all additional security controls needed.
- Operational physical security
- Ensure that a monitoring, detection, alert and intervention system is in place
- Deploying the policies and defining and setting up local processes, procedures and standards,
- Implementing the physical security provisions,
- Conducting operational controls to ensure robustness and operational readiness of the security systems and of the operational teams,
- Monitoring the regulatory requirements changes,
- Conducting security reviews of premises,
- Contributing, when needed, to the security of off-site events,
- Implementing the necessary means related to critical infrastructures, if any
- Taking part, when necessary, in the management of crisis situations.
- Security of travellers and expatriates
- Defining the security instruction for the country/territory always aligned with BNP Paribas guidelines and properly adapted to the country situation, and shared with other entities in the territory,
- Monitoring the presence of BNP Paribas’ travelers and expatriates and bringing support when needed,
- Ensure that new expatriates receive a security brief,
- Disseminating the physical security culture
- Designing and conducting trainings and awareness communications for BNP Paribas’ staff and other stakeholders,
- Defining and implementing the annual local training program for expatriates.
- Clean desk/safe desk
- Where appropriate, supervising and/or contributing to the safe and clean desks patrols.
- Physical Security network
- Maintaining constant relations with public authorities, law enforcement agencies, state agencies, etc.
- Managing key relationships with third parties (e.g. landlord, providers),
- Maintaining a close relationship with the Regional Physical Security Managers and other BNP Paribas Physical Security Managers (PSM).
- Promoting a transversal communication between BNP Paribas Entities PSM and organize, on a regular basis, meetings to share best practices
- When needed, consolidating the territory physical security plan based and reviewing it every year.
- Mantaining close coordination with other areas in the bank such as Human Resources (in particular with the Safety area), Travel Management, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
- Title of Security Director validated by the Interior Ministry
- 10 years of experience
- Deep knowledge on security organization and related systems
