The Digital Products, Platforms & Services team is a newly formed team sits within Growth, Digital & Platforms (GDP) global function and is responsible for designing, developing & rolling out state-of-the-art digital products across brands, regions & divisions globally and help our brands accelerate organic growth.   THE JOB We are in search of a skilled and proactive Solution Architect to join our dedicated team focused on enhancing our Customer Data Platform (CDP). As a key member of the CDP “ frontend ” team, your primary responsibility will be to optimize our CDP solution. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including backend developers and product owners, to tailor the CDP to meet specific business requirements. What are we looking for? As the Solution Architect for our Customer Data Platform (CDP) ‘Frontend’ Core team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and overseeing the build of a robust technical architecture. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, you will be instrumental in shaping solutions that leverage cutting-edge technologies to enhance our customer data capabilities. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring seamless integration, scalability, and compliance within the CDP. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the technical vision for our CDP, driving innovation and efficiency in our data management processes . You will be: Designing, d evelop ing and articulat ing comprehensive solution designs and architectures for the build and rollout of the Customer Data Platform across multiple brands & divisions globally , ensuring alignment with business goals , marketing use case delivery and technical scalability. Provid ing technical leadership and guidance to the development team throughout the CDP lifecycle , ensuring adherence to best practices, standards, and the successful implementation of the proposed architecture. Designing the CDP rollout architecture for scalability, ensuring it can handle large volumes of bi-directional data -flow and provide high performance for real-time marketing use cases  Collaborat ing closely with stakeholders, including business units and IT teams, to understand requirements, identify technical challenges, and design solutions that meet both business and technical needs. Defin ing and implement ing data integration strategies for the CDP, including data integration with existing divisional systems via APIs /batch/ ESB , to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability. Ensur ing the security and compliance of the CDP architecture, incorporating best practices for data privacy, governance, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards during the rollouts. Creat ing and maintain ing detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design documents, and guidelines, facilitating knowledge transfer within the team and supporting future enhancements. You and your CORE CDP Front-end as well as CDP Back-end teams will be working closely to deliver some key functional capabilities via optimal BUILD /BUY combination to deliver CDP use cases at scale across divisions and within divisions ; such as following  Ingestion from source systems  : Ingestion and consolidation of data from multiple heterogeneous data sources in both batch and real time, with data validation capabilities which ensure key objects adhere to strict norms to protect downstream processes from consequences of bad data CDP ID Generation, de-duplication, and merging : Ability to generate unique, immutable IDs at multiple hierarchy levels (ex. household, owner, pet) & the ability to do deduplication/merging with strict custom rules validated by Mars legal. Data / Profile Export : Real time, single, complete/360-degree export to querying systems (such as a CMS -powered brand website requesting a customer’s profile to display order history in an online MyAccount or customer service platform requesting a profile to pull up veterinary visit history for a care agent on call with a customer) Audience Export: Direct export of a segment/audience to a downstream activating platform (social media, digital advertising, marketing automation…) for the execution/orchestration of a communication campaign across multiple channels/surfaces simultaneously. Derived Properties: Based on raw data, standardized calculation of key attributes which will serve to enrich profiles as well as provide new variables to serve in segmentation/audience creation purposes. (ex: calculation of age from birthdate) Clickstream integration: Ingestion of online activity and merging of this data with customer information from other sources where customer identity can be resolved and matched   Rules based segmentation : Creation of segments or audiences based on custom rules or sets of customized rules used in conjunction with Boolean operators ML based segmentation: Creation of segments or audiences based on custom machine learning algorithms Audience build via no code GUI: Ability for business users to create segments/audiences on the fly using an easy-to-use GUI. Profile data storage: Persistent storage of customer profiles and associated data in line with a variety of data privacy regulation (data storage location, retention rules, etc. ) Marketing analytics : Ability to provide custom, easy to use, actionable analytics of performance of marketing activities orchestrated by the CDP. Monitoring : Performance monitoring of the platform, end-to-end, including monitoring of the data value chain managed by the CDP (ex: total records ingested, total records rejected from each source and why, through to total audience volumes, etc. ) in order to enable best in class data governance processes and support both rapid resolution of data issues and continuous improvement of data quality. Decisioning  : Real-time decisioning capabilities such as next best action to support a broad range of use cases seeking to optimize key outcomes. What will be your key responsibilities? A degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field provides a solid foundation for understanding both business requirements and technical aspects. Substantial experience in a product owner or related role, particularly in CDP and Data space , showcasing a track record of successful product management, feature prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration. MUST HAVE In-depth knowledge of Customer Data Platform (CDP) concepts, functionalities, and best practices, with a proven track record in architecting solutions for multi-country multi-brand CDP implementations. Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing data integration strategies, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability with existing systems and technologies. Familiarity with customer journey mapping methodologies, allowing for a holistic understanding of customer interactions and requirements to inform CDP architecture. Strong understanding of security and compliance requirements in the context of data platforms, with a track record of implementing solutions that adhere to industry standards and regulations. Proven experience providing technical leadership and guidance, leading teams through the development lifecycle, and ensuring the adoption of best practices and standards. A forward-thinking approach with a focus on innovation, staying informed about emerging technologies and conducting evaluations to recommend tools and approaches that enhance the CDP and overall system architecture. NICE TO HAVE Knowledge of data analytics and business intelligence concepts, enabling the architect to design CDP solutions that support advanced analytics and reporting capabilities. Experience collaborating with diverse teams, including data scientists, business analysts, and user experience professionals, to ensure a well-rounded and collaborative approach to CDP solution design . Experience with microservices architecture and expertise in designing and implementing APIs, enhancing the agility and modularity of the CDP. Expertise with cloud-based architectures, particularly experience with platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, to facilitate scalable and flexible CDP solutions. What can you expect from Mars?
