Job description

The Senior Marine Scientist of Canadian Adventure Charters Ltd is responsible for the success of the Corporation. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Marine Biologist is responsible for the marine-based monitoring and sampling programs, technical report preparation and delivery, and providing Subject Matter Expert advice to CAC, clients and regulators related to Environmental Impact Management, in concordance with the Corporation’s mission, goals, operating principles, and strategic actions.

To participate in the development of our luxury explore yacht and submarine charter platform and build our brand/product and website in collaboration with the marketing executives’ teams.

To participate in the promotion of Newfoundland & Labrador and The Northwest Passage, at charter destinations within CAC’s selected charter operations loop into Newfoundland, to Labrador, Northwest Passage, Spain, Canary Islands, Bahamas and Fort Lauderdale.

To participate in the building of a charter yachting destination industry in Newfoundland & Labrador has our yachting & submarine hub for Newfoundland & Labrador & Northwest Passage Charter Adventures, Submarine Dive Expeditions, Exploration, Treasure & Shipwreck Recovery, Underwater Film/ Documentary Entertainment- Climate Change/Global Warming Research.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES and REQUIRMENTS

This position is a senior management position in the Corporation, with responsibility for:

The Marine Scientist holds a successful portfolio building and managing public trading private marine biology and research corporations for a minimum of 10 years, working directly with Investor Relations (IR) and Stakeholders, including networking with ocean research vessels and research stations, marine aquarium corporations and building partner relations with 500 Fortune Companies. Managing $50M-$100M annual marine biology and climate change-global warm, toxic-free research portfolios.

The Marine Scientist will be directly responsible for the design, construction, maintenance, operations and 24/7 care of CAC, ‘s onsite ocean-side aquarium and both 500-gallon aquariums and lab onboard both of CAC, ‘s explore yachts.

Extensive Management experience in the Arctic- Northwest Passage- Baffin Islands Antarctica and the Med Atlantic- Spain, Canary Islands, Bahamas- Newfoundland & Labrador, will be a plus.

This role is critical in promoting a positive corporate image and maintaining strong external communication with key stakeholders, including investors, clients, media, and public relations.

The Marine Scientist will report to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief financial executive, the COO and president of all Business Charter Development, Bookings, Contracts, Schedules & all other related Operations. They will work closely with other executive team members to ensure the alignment of marketing & operational logistic strategies with overall company goals, values, and mission.

The Marine Scientist will work with the team for the development of annual charter plans, contracts and related capital and operating budgets, development of operational policies and procedures.

Keeps the board fully informed of the conditions of the Corporation and all crucial factors influencing it.

Responsibilities include developing proposals and budgets for the marine-based field, elaboration of study design for marine-based monitoring programs, advanced data analyses, formulation of technical reports, preparation permits or regulatory approval applications and support documentation, and representing W’s marine biology team at the technical, regulatory agency and client meetings and investors. Also, contribute to the coordinated development of business opportunities in the field of marine sciences.

Communication:

Fluent speaking language, creative writing and business management skills in English and 3 of the following is required for this position: French, German, Polish, Spanish, Mandarin, Norwegian, Arabic and Russian are very important for translation to international charter clients and guess our charter travel adventure product, branding, business development, networking building relations with investor and stakeholders

JOB KNOWLEDGE

The work requires the following education, knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Education

University Degree in a related field such as a degree in Business,

Ph.D. or MSc degree in marine biology, ecology, or equivalent.

A degree or experience in Business is an asset or experience specializing in Private Super Luxury Private Yachting and Submarine, Tourism Adventures, Expedition, Exploration, Charters & Scientific Marine Research Industries

A minimum of 10 years acting as a Senior Director of Marine Biology, with projects related to Climate Change & Global Warming & Medical Cures, Newly Discovered Fish and Marine Spec’s.

Experience- An Expert and Specialists:

Significant and proven leadership skills developed through at least 10 years as a senior director with a management role and experience related to economic and business development activity in marine resource development, treasure & shipwreck recovery- luxury yachting industry- offshore adventures, expeditions, exploration on land and deep-sea submarine operations, film entertainment industry- Climate Change-Global Warming Research, commercial charter vessel management operations

Demonstrated knowledge of the environmental assessment process in Canadian jurisdiction and industry-standard EIA methodology used to assess project-related effects on valued marine ecosystem components

Ability to communicate complex ideas to audiences with varying levels of scientific literacy, including clients, regulators, community members and other interested stakeholders

Ability to build effective relationships with external stakeholders and collaboration, inspire and motivate high performance and effectively resolve conflict; and

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands

The Marine Biologist will be required to travel and may need to work extended or flexible hours as required. MUST NOT GET SEA SICK OR AIR SICK

Environmental Conditions

The Marine Scientist may have to manage a number of projects at one time and may be interrupted frequently to meet the demands of competing priorities.

The Marine Scientist may find the environment to be busy, with high seas, cold and hot climate temperatures, areas with bears and wild animals, flies’ mosquitoes, jellyfish, and noise and will need excellent organizational time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.

Mental Demands

The Marine Scientist will have a variety of tasks and deadlines and may find the demands to be stressful.

Travel: The Marine Scientist will be required to travel when needed onboard CAC,s luxury exploration yacht, on tenders, floatplanes, heli, underwater submersible dives
