**Job Description Summary**: The Controls Platform Engineer will be responsible for connecting the different turbine subsystems to the main turbine controller assuring the reliability and availability values required by the product. This process implies requirement gathering, solution designing, validation and documentation and a strong alignment with the rest of areas in Offshore Wind. **Roles and Responsibilities**- Lead the development and enhancement of wind turbine control platform technologies, covering functional requirements definition, flow down, preliminary design development, design validation and documentation- As part of the broader control system design, interface with the turbine controls team, system teams, functional safety, service/commissioningto incorporate technical requirements into the control platform and network design- Lead the investigation of control issues, participate in identifying and implementing improvements in control platform strategies- As a member of the controls team, participate in conceptual design, detailed design, implementation, and validation of the control platform features- Interface with simulations team and incorporate wind turbine and wind farm requirements into the test platforms, as part of control system design- Coach and update engineering teams on technical developments, design, and tools- Occasionally act as customer-facing SME, answering questions and inspiring confidence**Required Qualifications**- Degree in Control Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Automation Engineering from an accredited College or University- Industrial knowledge of real-time systems and PLC programming- Knowledge of industry standard communication protocols (Profinet, EtherCAT)- Experience in configuration and management of industrial automation devices (IO systems, inverters, PLCs, gateways) and communication networks (switches, firewalls, routers)- Knowledge of controls related sensors and actuators- Experience in configuring and troubleshooting fieldbus devices and related issues- Used to elaborate, execute, and validate communication related test plans (testbench design, create test cases from requirements, test cases execution and report)- Familiarity and practical experience with agile methodologies- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment- Track record of meeting or exceeding schedule and quality targets- Strong oral and written communication skills- Fluent in English (spoken and written)- Effective problem identification and solution skills- Strong interpersonal skills, proven leadership skills and a positive energy- Willingness to travel to site occasionally**Desired Characteristics**- Knowledge of turbine control system software and wind turbine first principles- Experience with real time controls design or modeling- Excellent knowledge of safety system design and practices- Capability to read electrical schematics- Experience with GE’s MarkVIe- Strong analytical approach to problem solving**Additional Information**:**Relocation Assistance Provided**:No#J-18808-Ljbffr
