Our Specialist for Global Events is an exciting, challenging role within our Global Events Centre of Excellence (CoE). As a key events expert in the team, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the successful delivery of multiple flagship global events for the senior team.

Global events continue to be one of our biggest new pipeline generating activities, with FY23 events contributing over $100m in new pipeline alone. They also serve a critical part of our go to market activities as we position Avanade as a leading digital innovator, driving revenue growth globally.

You will also play a pivotal part in establishing processes, event playbooks and blueprints that not only help us drive excellence in our global CoE, but also support field teams in successfully managing their local events. About the job:

Avanade’s Event Centre of Excellence is accountable for managing over 20 flagship events, from Industry conferences such as the National Retail Federation, HIMMS in Health to HMI for manufacturing, through to major Microsoft events. As a Specialist in Global Events, you will partner closely with our Industry, Solutions and Alliance team, as well as our field marketing teams to shape KPIs for success, design unique client experiences and deliver compelling in person events.


• Event Processes – standardise event execution, logistics, reporting tools, criteria, process, share best practices and guidelines e.g. event comm templates, tools) including creating / sharing ‘event in a box’ tools to support consistent execution.

• Events CoE – Project management support and sharing of best practice to build our global centre of excellence globally.

• Audience / Client Acquisition – Responsible for audience acquisition for events – invitations, registration, reporting.

• Client Communications – Co-ordinate and execute client communications program (invitations, booking etc)

• Event Budget & Procurement– administer event budgets, track and report event spend. Including manage, track and progress event invoices and general procurement support

• Alliance and agency management – being a trusted advisor to our Alliance marketing and events team at Microsoft and Accenture.

• Global Events Calendar and Meeting Scheduling - planning, schedules, meeting booking, appointments, client meetings, demos etc, including Onsite activities.


Skills and experiences:

• Several years managing critical client events, conferences and exhibitions.

• Experience in matrixed organization, working in virtual teams.

• Passionate about activating campaigns and communication programs pre, during and after events.

• Experienced in managing and contributing to budget management, managing agencies and measuring impact against success criteria for ROI.

• Good knowledge and expertise in managing or supporting integrated communications programs around events or for major campaigns.

• Expertise in managing or working with agencies and delivering commercial objectives on time, in budget.

• Strong analytical skills and understanding of business impact metrics and how to impact marketing metrics across the funnel.

• Open and collaborative, responding well to open feedback and taking insight from different perspectives.

• Fluent English skills, both written and verbal.
