Job Description
GE Hydro is looking for a Purchasing project manager within the Service entity. You work on the ITO and OTR phases. You are the point of contact for the Project teams within the Supply Chain organization. You work closely with the Project Manager and all Supply Chain teams: Transport Specialist, Material Planner and sourcing teams.
Your mission is as follows:
- Ensure quality and on-time delivery of purchased products as well as compliance with costs and contractual conditions
- Collaborate with Regional Commodity Leaders to ensure that suppliers are aligned with the needs of the Service business in terms of cost, quality and deadlines.
- Manage and maintain your supplier panel.
- Understand customer expectations and provide the quotation request to suppliers, ensure supplier negotiation, place the purchase request and follow up until delivery
- Coordinate with the supplier quality manager to ensure that inspections and documentation are done on time.
- Interact with the Material Planner to ensure that purchase requests and shipments are made according to the set schedule.
- Ensure data quality in the ERP
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering and/or Supply Chain management
- Have min. 5 years of experience in position or coordination Sourcing / Procurement/ Supply Chain in project related context or in project Management
- English and Spanish required
Desired Qualifications:
- Hydraulic knowledge is a plus
- Supplier selection & relationship management
- Preparing and leading negotiation with suppliers
- Understanding products and using technical knowledge & skills
- Contract Management & Legal Awareness
- Total cost management
- Energy industry experience is a strong adder
