Scopely is looking for a Staff Web Engineer to join our Monopoly GO! team in Seville or on a hybrid basis. Monopoly GO! is our new casual game and a key franchise that has just become Scopely’s largest game, enjoyed by millions of players.
The team is based in Europe and the US, and works every day to create captivating new experiences for our players. What You’ll Do
- Translate wireframe designs into best in class web interfaces, supporting the player experience in Monopoly GO!
- Drive the implementation of game-related mechanics using web technologies
- Work closely with feature owners, the UX / UI team and other development teams to implement new features and technological pipelines for Monopoly GO!
- Participate in Technical Design Documents, Code Reviews and test suites to collaborate and share feedback with other team members
- Write automated, high-quality tests (unit, integration, e2e) and work with QA to ensure the delivery of high quality software that works smoothly
- Live game support & troubleshooting including addressing bugs and exploits and tackling opportunities to improve player experience
- Define and encourage use of best practices for frontend engineering throughout all development phases
- Help build a strong engineering team and culture
What We’re Looking For
- Deep experience in frontend engineering and UI development, with a meaningful focus in the React ecosystem
- Strong understanding of web applications architecture and patterns, considering the distributed nature of such products
- Experience addressing cross-browser compatibility concerns
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing to a high functioning team environment
- Experience in the gaming industry is a plus, but not required

- Experience building smooth and fun web interfaces, leveraging the latest technologies
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery processes
