Vysus Group is a leading engineering and technical consultancy offering specialist asset performance, risk management and project management expertise across complex industrial assets, energy assets (oil and gas, nuclear, renewables) and the energy transition.

We are looking for a Team Lead to join our Risk Management Consulting team and to help us establish our Process Safety Management (PSM) centre of excellence in Barcelona, Spain.

We work in partnership with owners and developers of energy, power and complex industrial assets and infrastructure, to interpret and manage complexity, reduce project risk, and optimise asset performance.

In the role of Team Lead you will oversee the daily operation of our Barcelona office, driving performance to achieve our business plans. The goals of the job are to:

Develop and execute the service line business strategy to achieve revenue and profitability targets and grow market share for Spain services.

Manage the P&L for Spain.

Lead our highly competent technical team in close collaboration with our Consultants and Sales team.

Lead commercial and business development/sales activities as well as building and maintaining business relationships for Spain.

The duties of the role are:

Setting performance objectives for each individual in the team, communicating the expectations and monitoring performance.

Managing operational aspects of the team such as approving time, leave, etc.

Monitoring revenue and cash collection.

Liaising with other teams to ensure efficient distribution of tenders and workload.

Leading and coordinating local BD & sales activities, assisting in preparation of tenders, approval of tenders and client visits, etc.

Supporting the effective delivery of projects, monitoring client feedback and managing corrective actions.

Participating in projects as a consultant (see below) and,

Leading compliance with group and local HSEQ requirements.

Our Team Lead i s also expected to perform technical consultancy work on our projects and business development and sales activities, in addition to the managerial tasks described above. Whilst the primary goal of the job is to manage the team, there is also a substantial requirement for project delivery. Technical competence in at least 2 of the following studies for the energy, oil and gas, petro-chemicals, offshore and renewables is therefore mandatory:

Process safety and operability studies such as HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, alarm management, safety operating envelopes (SOEs), etc.

Functional safety studies such as SIL determination / LOPA, SRS, SIL verification, FMEA / FMEDAs, SIL certification, HIPPS studies, FSAs, and FS management;

Technical safety reviews such as HAZID, BowTie, SIMOPS, etc. for the identification of

major accident h(MAH) and major accident events (MAEs), and safety and environmental critical elements (SECEs) and development of performance standards.

Technical safety studies such as risk assessments, including quantitative risk assessment (QRA), consequence (2D and/or 3D) modelling, fire and explosion safety, toxic and smoke, drop object assessments and ship collision studies, etc.

Safety case (Offshore Safety Directive) / safety reports (Seveso Directive) and ALARP assessments.

Emergency response studies, including ESSAs, EERAs, emergency preparedness and emergency response plans.

Asset management and reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) studies, including fault tree analysis (FTA), reliability block diagrams (RBDs), root cause analysis (RCAs), etc.

PSM & HSE management systems.

Barrier management studies and,

To be successful in the role of Team Lead we are looking for you to have:

A master's degree within engineering or related e.g., chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, process/risk management.

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience within oil and gas, (petro)chemicals or the energy industry.

At least 3 years´ experience in a managerial role.

Consulting, engineering, or operator experience within oil and gas, (petro)chemicals or the energy industry, preferably in process engineering or process safety roles. Experience in asset management related services is a plus.

Availability to travel within Spain and Europe.

Fluency in Spanish and English languages, with good capability in writing technical reports in both languages and,

The ability to handle multiple projects/tasks and be a team player in a dynamic environment across different offices and countries.
