DIGITAL MEDIA OPERATOR INTERN

As Digital Media Operator Intern, you will support the Eurovision Services (ES) Global Operations & Engineering team at our technology hub in Madrid, Spain.

WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES WAITING FOR YOU?
The Digital Media Operator (DMO) plays a key role in planning and overseeing the delivery of live
streaming events, from contribution to distribution. The DMO will access Eurovision’s dedicated media network and operate a variety of equipment and infrastructure in order to properly deliver the required services. The DMO will be constantly in contact with Eurovision Services central MCR and other Operations departments.
Some of the tasks that you, as Digital Media Operator Inter, will support:
• Deliver of live streaming of sports and news events
• Monitor the video and audio quality of content during live programming
• Gather user requirements for events, coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure
successful webcasts
• Schedule, upload, publish, and monitor social posts across all platforms: Facebook,
Instagram, Twitter, Grabyo, Twitch and YouTube
• Manage and execute changes across infrastructure devices and endpoints
• Review process and procedures and identify/implement improvements
• Perform proactive system checks to ensure “ready-for-business”
• Proactively manage escalations, incident tracking, ticketing, and resolutions
ABOUT YOU:
You are the ideal candidate for this position if you meet these requirements:
• Possibility to sign an internship agreement with your university or business school
• Availability to work on shifts
• Excellent customer service approach and attitude (e.g. empathetic, adaptable, patient)
• Excellent team player and positive attitude
• Good communication skills in English
• Knowledge of digital audio/video standards and associated connection/wire types
• Knowledge of the use of broadcast equipment and associated technology
• Knowledge of video communication standards/protocols
• Knowledge of video codecs/containers/plugins (WMV, H.264/265, MPEG-2/4, Flash, etc.)
• Knowledge of video streaming and VOD standards/delivery (Smooth, HLS, HDS, etc.)
• Degree in Communications, Computer Science, Software Engineering,
Telecommunications Engineering or similar degree (Master or Bachelor).
ADDED VALUE
• General knowledge of computer networking standards and associated
hardware/applications
• Some experience in the field of broadcasting or telecom operations
• Communication skills in French is a plus
