Job description
Your role as a Category Manager will see you being responsible for creating and managing our range of product assortments instore and online. You will focus on the consumer their needs and how they shop our brands. Working closely with our Head of Marketing our talented sales marketing business analyst and comms teams you will maximise our brand sales instore and online through assortment management engaging POS and stands for our consumers shopping journey.
You will be responsible for the whole product lifecycle of the brand and through detailed analysis you will create insights to form merchandising and assortments strategies which maximise the return on range. You will design and develop permanent store fixtures and instore POS which will excite and entice our shopper.
New product introductions into the marketplace will be determined by you and you will work alongside internal key stakeholders to maximise the marketing around the new product launch you will also determine delists from poorer sellers and be responsible for stock clearance.
Youll be working with exciting marketleading brands as well as leading Retail Partners across Europe. The role is ideal for someone looking to further develop their career in category management and really make their mark within an exciting and growing company.
Key Responsibilities
- Creation & ongoing management of all permanent product assortments within our Beauty team of cosmetics nails & lashes.
- Creating insights from sales & market data resulting in strategic range decisions including delisted SKU proposals and New SKU introductions
- Develop pricing strategies for assortments considering competitive set whilst maximizing sales and profit aligned to KPIs
- Working in alignment with our purchasing team forecasting stock for effective stock management of active and discontinued SKUs.
- Design and development of all instore permanent stands to optimize the brand instore and support the consumer shopping experience
- Accountable for Brand P&L across the permanent assortment
- Analyse market dynamics trends and track competitor activity (e.g. NPD promos marketing activities including digital/social media). Make interpretations and form recommendations to feed into future plans
- Support our ambitious growth agenda across traditional retail & ecommerce and work closely with key brick & click retailers and build expertise in this area to internally champion our digital marketing shopper strategy
- Work alongside the Sales Team to drive sales according to the retailer specific Trade Marketing Plans.
- Assist and participate at internal and external company events
- To remain abreast of industry trends digital developments and feed in new thinking
- Creation and delivery of marketing materials & content particularly producing effective pointofsale material to drive brand/category/product awareness
- To be the team expert on retailer activation guidelines/requirements for key customer POS / secondary siting best practices and developments
- Create presentations to both the internal Sales Team and external parties to drive revenue growth for NPD
- Lead and collaborate when pitching to new customers and new brands
- We are a small business you must be comfortable completing administrative tasks in an efficient and productive manner
Skills and Experience
- You will have experience in a previous category management or buying role ideally within the cosmetics retail or fastmoving consumer industry
- You will have to enjoy working in a fastpaced environment where hard work determination and resilience are key.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Ability to effectively influence others customers colleagues and team members
- Have experience working with retailers in a related industry.
- Great verbal and written skills with the confidence to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders
- A passion for cosmetics skincare and beauty
- You must enjoy working with numbers and be used to a large number of SKUs working with Microsoft Excel as well as PowerPoint.
- Some international travel is required.
- Must speak Spanish and English additional languages an advantage
