TAREAS/TASKS:

Do you have a bachelor's or master's degree and want to start your journey into applied artificial intelligence research? We (IPTC-UPM) offer two contracts to conduct research on the application of artificial intelligence techniques for various industrial problems, such as a) detection, tracking, and evaluation of objects and components using drones and aerial images; b) modeling behavior from electrical consumption data for flexibility market analysis; c) generative AI for data augmentation and anomaly detection; d) predictive maintenance models; e) explainability for decision making. The research will involve the design and development of prototypes for validation purposes, which will be co-designed and evaluated with key industry players, aiming to promote effective technology and knowledge transfer.

HABILIDADES-CUALIFICACIONES/SKILLS-QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree or master's degree in degrees related to Telecommunications, Computer Science, Mathematics.

-Great interest in applied research, analytical skills, creative thinking, ability to work in a team.

-Skills and taste for programming.

-Good level of English.

INFORMATION PROCESSING AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS CENTER

The Information Processing and Telecommunications Center ( is one of the Research Centers in UPM. It brings together the expertise and resources of around 160 researchers working in the fields of Electronics, Communications, Networks, Computing and Software. UPM-IPTC has a sustained record of involvement in numerous competitive projects (e.g. more than 100 per year), contracted research and an extensive experience of collaboration and technology transfer to companies (more than 60 research contracts per year). With a convinced vocation of cooperation with industry, UPM-IPTC focuses on technologies of social and economic interest.

DATA PROCESSING AND SIMULATION GROUP

The Data Processing and Simulation Group (GPDS), part of the Information Processing and Telecommunications Center and located at ETSIT ( of the U. Politécnica de Madrid, is formed by fifteen researchers and has a long track record of success in research projects for and in collaboration with companies. GPDS develops different lines of research, in particular the design and development of air traffic control systems, algorithms for Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management architectures (UTM), multisensor acquisition and fusion architectures, applied artificial intelligence and optimization and advanced interfaces and mixed reality for big data management and command and control.
