We are looking for an experienced Senior Tax candidate to join the Tax team based in Barcelona.
Tax Engine Business is responsible for providing end-to-end global transaction tax calculation solutions (sales and use taxes, value-added taxes, good and services taxes, and other consumption taxes) to Amazon and thousands of other merchants selling on Amazon marketplaces and other e-commerce platforms. The Senior Tax candidate will be responsible for the indirect tax rates maintenance, accuracy and management of global indirect tax legislation changes. This function is critical to ensuring the tax calculation platform is in compliance with both global and domestic indirect tax laws. Candidate will participate on cross-functional projects with members across a global tax department as well as non-tax stakeholder teams and should be able to communicate tax concepts in ways that are understandable and useful to non-tax professionals. Candidate will be part of product classification platform discussions, providing guidance and support to global product classification efforts, internal Audits, outlining business requirements for system enhancements and E2E process improvements. Key job responsibilities- Bachelor's degree
- Experience researching indirect tax issues including taxability of products and services
- 5+ years of Indirect Tax Experience in advisory firm or multi-national tax department.
- Experience maintaining and operating transaction tax calculation software (e.g. Vertex)
- Experience working with European and/or NA tax laws
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Proficiency in other languages would be an advantage
