MRO Service Procurement (80-100%, all genders)

The Group Engine Management is responsible for all 3rd party MRO services on the engines for all Lufthansa Group Airlines (LHG). It has the commercial responsibility for the operational business to ensure the LHG airlines obtain best value for money at a defined level of quality.

As MRO Procurement Manager - Engines, you will be working in a team with other MRO Service Procurement Managers, each being responsible for a dedicated Engine type and supplier management of their assigned MRO service portfolio for all Lufthansa Group Airlines.

• Monitor performance of the MRO Engine Service suppliers in accordance with the agreements in place and if required, initiate corrective actions plans to minimize the financial exposure risk to the LHG airlines including resultant business case required adjustments
• Collaboration on the definition of MRO Service strategies for an assigned Engine category, with due consideration for MRO market traits and opportunities and the operational requirements of the Lufthansa Group
• Being an active team member on cross-functional joint procurement campaigns (interdisciplinary tender processes) for MRO Engine Services agreement in line with internal/external rules and regulations in accordance with the Lufthansa Group policies
• Support LHG airlines in obtaining approvals from Senior Management

• Bachelor/Master degree in Engineering with further education in Business Administration or vice versa, experienced in business development, risk&relationship management
• At least 5 years’ experience in a technical division in the aviation sector (maintenance organization of an airline or MRO).
• Advanced negotiation and problem solving skills (smart communicator and strong team player with distinctive social skills) with a deep understanding of the Engine MRO market and its business processes
• Self-dependence with a pro-active attitude driving for results and solutions
• Profound knowledge of financial effect on the business value chain
• Fluent in English and German, written and spoken
• Willingness to travel (approx. 20%)
