Job description
We are looking for a
Service Engineer
to expand our team.
The Service Engineer’s primary roles is to carry out repairs, trouble shooting, installation, maintenance on navigation and communication (navcom) equipment on marine vessels (offshore) of various specifications and onshore locations of the customers of Radio Holland as assigned by the Service Coordination.
Summary of key responsibilities
As a field Service Technician you will be expected to work under limited supervision, have strong problem solving skills, interpret schematics, use manufacturer’s manual’s and use your knowledge of electronic circuit theory:
- Represent Ing.-Buero Querin GmbH in the best way possible regarding performance, attitude, safety, quality and customer service
- Execute service jobs as assigned by the Service Coordinators
- Communicate regularly with the Ship agents / Vessel to ensure assigned service job attendance without fail
- Prepare thoroughly for service jobs by coordinating with service coordination and logistics to collect appropriate equipment / spare parts required for the job
- Document all services rendered and materials expended as per Ing.-Buero Querin GmbH standards
- Prepare the service report for each service job as per Ing.-Buero Querin GmbH standards
- Obtain further technical advice through research or by contacting Manufacturer for advice to Customer
- Identify and assist in training to enhance the levels of competences of the team
- Recommend and create opportunities to learn new skills, both technical and soft, for self and team members
- Analyze, along with Service Coordination concerns of customers and propose solution for the same
- Attend team meetings to discuss performance, customer issues and other team related matters
- Learn continuously on the job and during the technical trainings assigned. Constantly create opportunities to learn new skills, both technical and soft, for self
- Maintain tools and machinery, used for the execution of service jobs, in a safe and proper manner
- Support the team to generate more leads, resulting in more revenue for the company
- Update Technical bulletin, service/installation manuals and important technical information
- Identify spares/accessories availability, forecast requirements to reduce probability of losing revenue and ensure a high First time Fix success
- Install, repair and maintain marine electronic radio and navigation systems
- Inspect and test electronic equipment, components, and assemblies using multi-meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, and other electronic test instruments, tools and equipment
- Perform radio inspections according to IMO and Class authorities
- Adjust, align, replace or repair electronic equipment, assemblies, and components following equipment manuals and schematics, and using soldering tools and other hand and power tools
- Update manufacturer‘s software.
- Complete company required service report and documentation.
- Provide ships staff with technical advice and support.
Requirements
We are looking for a colleague who has an affinity for (maritime) electronics and would like to delve into our demanding profession
- You have completed technical vocational training or a comparable qualification
- Ideally, you have already gained experience in a maritime or international project environment
- Ability to travel worldwide, passport, driver's license class B
- You have a good knowledge of spoken and written English
- Confident demeanor and assertiveness
- Good computer skills
- GMDSS Radio Operator Certificate (preferred)
- You are characterized by the ability to work in a team, flexibility and initiative in combination with a high level of customer and service orientation
