Job Summary and Essential Job Duties
- Develop optical alignment and test strategies for entire instruments or subsystems (e.g. telescopes, spectrometers etc.)
- Negotiate and align our AIT plans and requirements with optical and system designers
- Specify and procure specialized optical ground-support equipment Align and cooperate with other AIT disciplines
- Quantify the performance of our approaches in technical budgets
Align and cooperate with other AIT disciplines (mechanical, electrical,
system)
- Develop, plan and document the detailed processes for the cleanroom activities
- Execute the OAIT activities in the cleanroom and at external facilities
- Present our results to the project and customers
- Close collaboration with subcontractors and test facilities
Required Qualifications
- University degree or PhD in Technical Optics, Physics, Space Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Optics & optical metrology (wavefront measurements, light sources, lasers, detectors, imaging systems, lenses and mirrors) from ultraviolet to far infrared
- High-precision positioning systems (hexapods, stages etc.)
- Numerical data handling&analysis, scripted automatization of measurement setups (e.g. Python, Matlab, EDEN )
