HSE Manager (m/f/d)

You will be responsible for Health, Safety and Environment topics, assisting managers and employees to deliver a high-performing culture through clear line management accountability and a competent organization in the ABB Logistics Center Europe GmbH based in Menden. You will push improvements in health, safety and environment (HSE) performance to ensure a high-performing health and safety culture as well as a strong focus on the environment.
In this role you will lead by example, applying your in-depth HSE knowledge to provide solutions and advice to address a variety of issues.
Your responsibilities
- Lead HSE activities and improvements together with the Operative Unit Manager (report directly to Unit Manager)
- Maintain HSE management systems including control of documents and records, operational control procedures, and continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the HSE program in regard to compliance, management systems, and culture. Develop, recommend and implement appropriate corrective measures
- Establishes performance target objectives aligned with strategic ABB direction in core functions (Safety and Environmental) and monitors achievement of
- Maintain all safety and compliance records for employees and the facilities
- Support sustainability initiatives and maintain energy, water, and waste consumption metrics. Develop, recommend, and implement appropriate controls to reduce use or disposal
- Responsible for the HSE area training program to all employees
Your background
- Several years of experience in HSE topics
- Sound knowledge of processes and topics ideally in HSE in an logistical or industrial/factory environment with strategic, analytic and organizational background
- Knowledge of standard office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, …), database handling
- Ability to manage complex issues and work in cross-functional teams
- Collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills

- Diploma, Master or Bachelor of Science in Engineering or similar
- Excellent German and good English language skill(s), written and spoken. Additional language skills are welcome
