We’re looking for an outstanding Head of Quality Management to join our team in Munich
The Head of Quality Management at Westfalia Fruit will assume overall responsibility for the organization's quality management, which encompasses creating and maintaining quality and safety-related product specifications, ensuring alignment with agreed quality standards and characteristics as defined by both company and customer specifications, and meticulously documenting customer quality requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Drive comprehensive quality management across the supply chain, meticulously upholding industry standards and rigorously adhering to established company protocols.
- Build and empower a high-performing Quality team, fostering a culture of collaboration and dedication to consistent quality excellence.
- Proactively cultivate strong client relationships, deeply understanding their quality expectations, and building trust through seamless communication and collaboration.
- Champion continuous quality improvement, leveraging data analysis to identify trends, propose insightful solutions, and implement effective initiatives that elevate quality across all operations.
- Stay at the forefront of industry best practices, actively engaging in professional development, seeking innovative technologies, and adopting cutting-edge approaches to elevate Westfalia Fruit's quality standards.
- Represent Westfalia Fruit proudly at industry events, sharing expertise, fostering meaningful connections, and actively contributing to the advancement of the global avocado community.
- Integrate sustainable and ethical practices into every aspect of quality management, ensuring alignment with Westfalia Fruit's commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
- Undertake essential international travel as needed, conducting audits, fostering client relationships, and building strong collaborations with global suppliers.
- Lead by example and ignite a passion for quality, fostering a team environment where everyone is obsessed with delivering exceptional quality in every aspect of their work.
Requirements
- A strong background in quality management roles, experience of the fresh produce industry would be adventurous, but knowledge of the food industry is essential.
- Proven track record of leading and motivating teams to achieve quality goals.
- In-depth knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Expertise in relevant quality control technologies and data analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of industry standards like IFS, HACCP, and GLOBALG.A.P.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Fluency in English and German (C1/C2); additional language skills a plus.
- Ability to travel internationally as needed for supplier audits and client meetings.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
