Head of Strategic Alliances

What's the Role?

Building and maintaining a strong partner ecosystem is crucial to our success. Capital markets firms use vendor software solutions across the front, middle, and back office. Ensuring that these software solutions are nourished by Bloomberg’s industry leading content is a strategic priority designed to offer mutual customers a seamless integrated experience. 

As the Lead for the 3rd Party Business team, you will manage a global team of Business Development analysts. Working closely with senior managers in sales, service and product you will set the strategy to seek and onboard new vendor partners, grow strategic relationships with existing partners, and grow revenue through partner channels. 

The ideal candidate will be a proven leader who demonstrates the ability to influence key decision makers, prioritize a customer focused approach, have a balanced business and technology acumen, and possess a genuine passion for FinTech in Capital Markets. Due to the nuanced nature of our business and the complexity of the partnership program an eye for detail is a must, as well as a willingness to understand the principles of how we run our business as defined in our contractual terms and commercial models.

We’ll trust you to:

• Drive significant growth of Bloomberg Enterprise Data products through 3rd party integration
• Identify and develop opportunities for new partnerships at a granular product level
• Develop deeper relationships with existing strategic partners including at the C-Level
• Drive adoption of new products across the partner community
• Gain a broad and deep understanding of the various families of Enterprise Data products
• Become a subject matter expert in Enterprise Data’s contracts and commercial models
• Build positive relationships with our vendor partners through knowledge sharing and insights
• Balance hands on work with a desire to keep up with market trends
• Collaboratively engage with Bloomberg senior managers to set strategies, communicate progress, promote wins, and thoughtfully learn from and adjust when failures occur
• Take a strategic approach to partner development by understanding all relevant dimensions and how they may impact on businesses within Bloomberg beyond 
• Develop a strategically focused global team

You’ll need to have:

• Experience leading and influencing a range of stakeholders 
• Comfort engaging with senior/executive partners and demonstrate the ability to secure buy-in on key decisions
• Experience with the technology that drives capital market firms
• Experience with the data required to facilitate decision making across the Front, Middle, and Back office
• Strong understanding of capital markets, banking,and.or  asset management
• Experience handling sophisticated tri-party relationships
• Outstanding communication and influencing skills that will drive adoption of our offerings
• Ability to travel
