Job description
We are looking for a
Technical Project Engineer (m/f/d)
As a technical project Engineer, you will be integrated into our Iron “Overall layout & BF Proper” office in Luxembourg and you will be involved in most of our green iron making industrial projects. You will interact with internal project managers and customers as well as engineering sub-contractors and equipment suppliers. Your area of work will mainly concentrate on the blast furnace cooling system and the utility and process fluid field distribution.
Your main tasks:
- Development of technical specifications for customer and/or sub-contractors as well as supervision, coordination and control of ongoing engineering activities and projects
- Process calculation of blast furnace cooling systems
- Determination of appropriate equipment considering design pressure and media (pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, valves, etc.)
- Definition of pipe classes for different fluids & plant sectors, considering applicable international standards
- Support in technical offer preparation
- Development of bill of quantities and lists of deliverables and their follow-up
- Development of functional descriptions for BF cooling systems
- Technical project follow-up of the internal engineering team & international engineering sub-contractor
What do we expect?
- Degree in mechanical / process engineering or in other comparable industrial fields
- Knowledge of international pressure piping standards (EN 13480; ASME, etc.)
- Skilled in piping stress analysis software will be considered as an advantage
- Strong command in AutoCad Mechanical. Knowledge in 3D design software is an asset
- Skilled in 3D design review software (NavisWorks)
- Fluent in English; for office communication German and/or French language skills are an advantage
- International mindset and willingness to travel worldwide
- Strong analytical and logical problem solving skills and well-structured way of working
