Your responsibilities - Your main tasks will be advising the RWE Group in the areas of antitrust and energy law, in particular with the following activities:
- Legal advice to group management and the operating units in merger control and investment control law proceedings, including their worldwide coordination, in particular in the areas of renewable energies and hydrogen
- Legal advice on European and German antitrust and energy law, including the management and supervision of antitrust and regulatory proceedings
- Support group-wide antitrust compliance activities
- Legal advice on European state aid law, including EU foreign subsidies regulation
- Identifying new developments in the aforementioned areas of law and developing recommendations for action
- Monitoring the development of regulatory standards, market integrity and market transparency (e.g. REMIT, EMIR, MAR, MiFID) and deriving the practical significance for RWE
Your profile
- A fully qualified lawyer with above-average exam results (possibly supplemented by a doctorate and/or LL.M.)
- Relevant previous experience in a legal department of a large company or an international law firm
- Knowledge and experience in the field of antitrust law and energy law (including merger control and investment control)
- Ability to familiarize yourself quickly and competently with new issues
- Intercultural competence and strong team player skills with openness to constructive feedback
- Ability to take an entrepreneurial perspective and provide proactive as well as solution-oriented advice on operational business
- Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
Advantageous, but not a must
- Ideally knowledge of the functioning of energy trading markets and their regulatory framework
