A Day in the Life of Global Head of Sales
The global head of sales will define, plan and deliver sales bookings to create organic growth for the business in its core markets. You will oversee your sales teams priorities and activities, monitor and manage bookings to target forecasts, and course correct as needed. On any given day key customer engagement and relationship building, managing partner channels, attending industry events, leading or participating in marketing activities such as panel speaking engagements, and working thru internal obstacles to drive the selling process could be on the agenda.
So, how are we going to keep you busy?
- Hire, professionally develop, and retain a high-quality, high-intensity, high-integrity sales team that is market current, technically, commercially and project management strong to deliver a sustainably growing level of sales bookings;
- Develop an auditable streamlined agile and standards-compliant sales process (based on consistent sales stages, bottoms-up forecasting) and sales team (including both commercial and technical sales) to meet coverage and account management requirements;
- Calibrate sales investment (staff, travel/living, commissions), to sustain a Sales Ratio of 0.9;
- Ensure 100% self-sufficiency and accountability (quoting, demo’s, POC’s, RFP responses) for all sub-quotas (territories) and eliminate/minimize any sales overhead positions;
- Assist in initial customer originating agreement redlines and purchase order collection and reviews;
- Provide marketing support (access to customers for press releases & case study content);
- Tracking & reporting – conduct weekly sales team meetings, and ensure opportunity and customer data, and pipeline updates are accurate in the CRM;
- Provide quarterly analysis of ongoing sales performance (by territory: bookings vs quota, forecasting accuracy, close rate, sales yield, pipeline development).

Advanced Degree or equivalent work experience with exhibited progression of responsibilities and production
Experience, that will be an advantage:
Experience and expertise in the telecommunication operator space for wholesale or enterprise interconnect activities related to Voice, Messaging, Data, Number Reselling ideally in both National and International domains. A great mind for numbers, analytics, and high-level systems flow along with the end-to-end knowledge of wholesale back office processes for Trading, Rating, Routing and Billing.
