Our client seeks an experienced accountant to take responsibility for their local hotel portfolio.

You will get to work closely with the hotels at a group level and make a meaningful contribution in this hands-on role.

The office is small and busy and the work is interesting. You will be responsible for the accounting and reporting functions with the support of a team. You will ensure that the finance team operates within a robust control environment and your business-friendly approach will give confidence as the main point of contact for auditors, tax advisors and stakeholders.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for the day-to-day accounting of several hotels.
• Maintain all accounting records and comply with accounting standards and legislation.
• Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
• Production of year-end accounts in accordance with Dutch GAAP.
• Responsible for all supporting schedules – loan and interest calculations, depreciation and amortization schedules, etc.
• Responsible for investor reporting
• Oversee the year-end audit process in co-operation with the auditors.
• Reconciliation of reporting to IFRS.

Competencies Required:

• Relevant accounting experience including a minimum of 3 years of working in a similar financial role within a hotel or other real asset operating company.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, written and spoken. Fluency in either Italian or any other European language advantageous.
• Dutch GAAP essential, IFRS advantageous.
• Experience in preparing tax calculations advantageous
• Good organizational and deadline management skills.
• Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Pro-active and solution-orientated. 
• Self-starter with a hands-on approach.
• A curious mind-set and a mentality to learn and grow. 
• A tenacious, proactive and business-friendly attitude.
