The Institute for Biomedical Informatics (BI-K) & the Medical Data Integration Center (MeDIC) at the University Hospital of Cologne are looking for a Research Data Manager / Data Steward (f/m/d) as soon as possible. Our goal is to make medical data from routine care available for clinical research and to enable sustainable research data management according to the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable, FAIR).

As a Research Data Manager / Data Steward, you will work in Cologne in an excellent interdisciplinary research environment, support the scientific exchange between basic research and clinical research and promote national and international collaborations.

As a Research Data Manager / Data Steward, you are a member of the MeDIC/BI-K research data management team.

As part of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII) and the National University Medicine Network (NUM), the University Hospital of Cologne has set up a Medical Data Integration Center (MeDIC). The main aim of the MeDIC is to create the technical and organizational requirements for the use of routine clinical data in medical research. The MeDIC enables the transfer of data from a wide range of clinical information systems, the integration and processing of clinical data as well as ensuring data quality and compliance with data governance.

The Institute for Biomedical Informatics (BI-K) is a newly founded and dynamic institute at the Medical Faculty of the University of Cologne. Its mission is to support data-driven change in medicine and to develop new artificial intelligence technologies for personalized medicine. You will be part of an agile, innovative and interdisciplinary team that brings together expertise from different disciplines to create new synergies. You will have the opportunity to work with clinicians to develop solutions that can improve medical care for the population.
