Job description

Research assistant position (m/f/d) in the context of a third-party-funded project for development of a module for mobile radiation detection on patients.

Institution

Department

The Bundeswehr Institute of Radiobiology in Munich is a departmental research institute of the German Federal Government. It conducts defense medical research and development in the field of medical management against radioactive substances as well as ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.

Employment location

Ernst-von-Bergmann Kaserne, Neuherbergstraße 11, 80937 München Aufgaben:
  • For CBRN scenarios, an international consortium is developing a complete package that realizes the emergency care and transport of patients. In this context, the Institute of Radiobiology is looking for a research assistant to develop a mobile radiation detection system for patient screening.
  • Additionally, the person will be participate in the development of the emergency scenario and defining the requirements for the transport system.
  • The position is third-party funded and available immediately.
Qualifikationsprofil:
  • Successfully completed master’s degree or university diploma program in the field of physics, medical physics, applied physics or something comparable. PhD desirable.
  • Foreign language skills in English with a proficiency level of at least C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or equivalent.
  • Able to work both independently and in an international team.
  • Skills in radiation detection methods (gamma spectrometry) and metrology.
  • Familiar with radiation protection and emergency management.
  • Experience with Monte-Carlo-Simulation codes desirable.
  • Agreement to participate in a health suitability.
  • Successful security clearance level Ü2 mandatory to fill the advertised position (beyond the probationary period).
