Your tasks:
- The PhD will be done at the Department of Pediatric Cardiology in the group of Functional Cardiogenetics under the supervision of Dr. Daniela Panáková.
- The focus of the PhD project will be investigating single-ventricle disease by combining genomics, genetics, developmental biology and imaging data in the zebrafish and cell-based models.
- For this purpose, we have ongoing international and national efforts to study the genetic architecture of congenital heart disease (CHD) using both single cell and bulk sequencing technologies.
- Our research is complemented by the genomic and MRI imaging datasets in affected patients.
- International team, state-of-the-art equipment, and dedicated support in career development planning.
Your profile:
- Applicants should hold a diploma/masters’ degree in life sciences/biology/bioinformatics. Background in handling large-scale genomic or imaging data is an asset but not a requirement.
- The applicant should be familiar with molecular biology and other common laboratory techniques. Knowledge of zebrafish model is not required.
- The ability to work independently and in a team is essential.
