Digital Media Analyst

The Bloomberg Media Insights team is looking for an eager and curious self-starter with a passion for analytics and Media. As a key member of the Media Insights team, you will partner closely with leaders in our News, Video, and Live Events along with additional business units, including engineering, research, and strategy/operations, analyzing complex data sets, identifying unique trends, and providing actionable insights to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. Think of this role as some parts of the following: strategy, execution, recommender, insights gatherer, and data flow and insights architect.

WE'LL TRUST YOU TO:

• Partner with stakeholders across our editorial team (e.g., journalists, editors, video strategy, etc.) to understand the drivers of content performance and engagement
• Develop and maintain self-serve dashboards, reports, and visualizations that clearly communicate complex data in a simple and actionable way
• Identify opportunities for improving data quality, accuracy, and completeness
• Perform analytical deep dives on user engagement using SQL or Python
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the media industry and our competitors to provide strategic insights and recommendations
• Clearly, consistently, and broadly communicate insights that inform content vision, goals, and impact to leadership and across the organization

SKILLS:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Psychology, Data, Business or related field
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in analytics or related fields
• Strong analytical skills with experience in data visualization tools (Mode, Tableau, Data Studio, PowerBI, Looker, etc.)
• Familiarity w/ data management platforms (Databricks, Bigquery, Google Analytics, etc.)
• SQL experience a must
• Experience using statistics and advanced analytics to answer key questions
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Good business acumen with experience in the media industry preferred
