Job description
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
Retail & Omnichannel Excellence is the backbone that proactively shapes our Retail and Franchise business. The function has to ensure a consumer first mentality across our business. Morever, it is responsible to showcase our brand and an effective enabler to deliver our P&L. This center of excellence is responsible to manage the omnichannel & digital transformation across our fleet, achieve operational efficiency, deliver a first class inventory control and effectively train our store-based colleagues. The function is key partner and co-creator for Global Retail & Franchise teams to develop, implement projects, initiatives and consumer journeys for own retail & franchise stores.

Key Responsibilities:
- Embed and live up to a consumer first mentality
- Build and lead an effective Retail & Omnichannel Excellence team
- Create and drive a high performance culture by:
- Evaluating the competencies of team members on a regular basis; providing prompt feedback and guidance to drive high performance
- Taking ownership for Talent Management processes to grow, develop and retain talents
- Setting clear expectations and individual goals.
- Translating company goals in team-specific actions and business plans. Control and monitor performance and results.
- Guarantee a highly satisfying and consistent service level all store formats
- Contribute to development of strategic plans and execute them
- Drive digitalization and operational efficiency
- Develop and execute an effective and efficient Retail training approach
- Improve communication to and from stores
- Support implementation of RFID
- Drive execution of key operational projects
- Act as a business partner, constructive challenger and gatekeeper of our operational Retail & Franchise business
- Implement a culture of continuous improvements
- Manage and control the function`s operational expenses
- Make market-level commercial decisions by analyzing Retail KPIs, local trends and needs
- Build and maintain an effective network with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure consistent execution and implementation of consumer journeys for own retail & franchise stores, with focus on omnichannel, foster efficient allocation of resources, activities and processes to deliver an exceptional consumer experience.
- Act as a brand ambassador and role model of the adidas/company brand/brands & values.
- Create a vibrant service and sales culture, grow team and operate in a customer-centric way to deliver sustained service and commercial performance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Consumer-first mindset.
- Experience in Retail
- Digital savviness
- Strong team builder, comfortable working in a matrix organization, across borders working with a diverse and international group of highly skilled leaders and experts
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership; lead, motivate, and develop high performing teams
- High level of business acumen and financial understanding
- Excellent communication skills including impactful presentation skills, influencing & negotiating, business partnering and change management
- Problem-solving mindset
- Advanced numeracy and literacy, with good IT skills
- Geographical mobility and global leadership mindset
- Fluency in English (written and verbal)
- Ability to use critical thinking and creative ways to solve problems.
- Ability to make recommendations that effectively resolve challenging situation considering consistency with standards, practices, policies, and procedures.
- Comfortable with working in a matrix organization, dynamic retail environment.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of ten years in Retail – including field operations
- Minimum of five years in a senior management/head of department role or equivalent level
- Previous international experience desirable
- University degree in business, Retail or equivalent relevant experience
