Job description
Development of custom solutions and prototypes of complex laser systems beyond the state of the art for applications in the area of quantum technologies based on TOPTICA’s product portfolio
Management of collaborative research projects in quantum technologies in close coordination with academic and industry partners
Identification and definition of the technological demand in specific quantum-technology applications
Research in and realization of technological solutions for specific quantum technologies, ranging e.g. from an optical control system for quantum computers to a rack-integrated optical atomic clock
Execution of application-related characterization measurements and writing of application-related publications like application notes and white papers
Active participation in the strategy definition as well as operational tasks in the business unit Quantum Technologies
enthusiasm for quantum technologies and the willingness to dive deep into new topics
university degree in Physics or a similar discipline with more than five years of professional experience, partially e.g. as a PhD student
preferably professional experience in an industrial environment
profound hands-on laboratory experience in lasers and optical or optically-controlled quantum technologies with complex optics setups
ideally know-how and technological expertise of narrow-linewidth laser systems, laser frequency references and frequency stabilization, and programming skills (e.g. Python)
broad application and product know-how in state-of-the-art quantum technologies
the ability and drive to combine technological demands of customers with future product strategies in coherent research projects
enthusiasm for working in a motivated team, diplomatic skills, and assertiveness to optimize cooperation with partners in your area of responsibility
