Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Our product operations teams create every shirt, every shoe and every piece of equipment for thousands of athletes and fashion lovers as if it was one of a kind. And it truly is, as they weave their passion into every single product. But translating designs, drawings and renderings into real products requires a lot of decision making.
As Manager Laboratory Standards you are a key contributor in the laboratory testing process by ensuring industry leading laboratory testing standards, processes and systems are implemented and maintained on a global level supporting an end-to-end quality approach for all product types from creation to production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage in collaboration with AC-T&Q and Sourcing teams, the lab testing standards setting covering material/component and product lab testing globally for defined division.
- Manage in collaboration with Lab & Compliance Excellence and relevant stakeholders the evolvement of physical and functional standards/methods and ensure testing requirements are in line with future business and consumer requirements.
- Manage country/market specific compliance and test standards (e.g. CMA, BIS). Ensure that adidas lab testing standards are aligned with local regulations and products are compliant globally.
- Collaborate with ACT functions and Sourcing to harmonize processes and standards cross divisionally.
- Collect and analyze data as basis for standard/test method creation and updates and for decision making.
- Create and implement test methods for tech function/marketing claim validation.
- Collaborate with Laboratory Excellence team on research and assessment of equipment as well as the creation and evaluation of new or existing test standards.
- Maintain the testing framework as basis for the implementation into our IT testing infrastructure.
- Provide information and support decision making in exceptional cases (LR/FD).
- Act as key contact for special testing and quality related stakeholder questions.
- Upskill our global stakeholders internally in regards to test standards and test methods.
- Utilize the existing relationships with external testing locations and institutes to have latest in class insight in lab innovation in terms of equipment and methodologies.
- Manage workstreams in cross functional projects.
- Build and maintain your internal and external network.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (FTW/APP/A&G)
- Expert knowledge of material / product testing (FTW/APP/A&G)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Advanced Computer literacy (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Python is a plus)
- Strong understanding of statistics and quality control measures
- Fluent in English and German
- Ability to work independently and thinking further about improvements
- Ability to travel
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- 4-year College/University degree with focus on engineering or equivalent background
- 2 years of progressive working experience in sporting goods industry (lab or manufacturing)
