For temporary employment of 6 months OHB System AG in Oberpfaffenhofen  is looking for a

Internship in Image Simulation & Processing (m/f/d)

In this position you will contribute to a service based on spaceborne data to provide practical and actionable information for the mitigation and adaptation to urban heat within the EU Horizon 2020 project CityCLIM. In close collaboration with experienced colleagues from the Remote Sensing Group, you shall perform development and validation activities for the modelling of urban climate and urban heat islands. Your work can also be in combination with a Bachelor Thesis or Semester Thesis. Your detailed tasks will be defined with your supervisor according to your interests and strengths. The duration is flexible and a start is envisioned as soon as possible.

Your Tasks

• Perform a temporal analysis of the impact of construction sites on heat based on historical examples
• Support the improvement of an urban heat simulation tool
• Validate current Machine Learning models for urban heat change prediction
• Support colleagues with project work such as analyses, documentation update, preparation of deliveries

Your Qualificatons

• Enrolled student in Earth Sciences, Geography, Aerospace Engineering or similar
• Experience in scientific programming (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
• Basic knowledge of remote sensing technology, data analysis, machine learning methods, and image processing
• Good communication skills and team spirit
• Fluent in English in reading and writing

Flexible, start as soon as possible; possibility to combine with a Bachelor Thesis
