Job description
Hays Luxembouyrg is looking for a Sr Middleware Administrator for his client based in Luxembourg: Your responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and resolving issues within our central Middleware environment, a vital component of the bank's crucial applications. Responsibilities Address and resolve any problems in the Middleware setup, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions; collaborate with vendors or infrastructure providers until a resolution is achieved. Administer WebSphere Application Server or RedHat JBoss, IBM MQ, IBM Integration Bus/IBM ACE, and Apache Kafka. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for production incidents, ensuring adherence to the escalation process. Offer assistance in code deployment, change management, and troubleshooting at the application level for existing Middleware setups; collaborate with developers on application projects. Provide technical insights and requirements for the development and implementation of new Middleware infrastructure, working closely with our infrastructure team. Install, configure, fine-tune, and upgrade the Middleware environment based on production or project needs. Implement load balancing, clustering, and failover mechanisms. Participate in the application migration process following Middleware software upgrades. Configure connections and security settings for WebSphere Application Server (WAS). Develop and maintain Shell scripts for automating deployment, maintenance, and administrative tasks. Monitor the Middleware environment's performance, proactively implementing measures to ensure constant availability and optimal performance. Design and execute backup and recovery procedures for Middleware. Create and maintain documentation related to Middleware environment support. Offer consultation and analysis to enhance quality, accuracy, and efficiency. Fulfill any other assigned duties. Profile Master's degree in computer science or information systems. IBM Certification is a nice to have. 3-5 years of experience in a similar position, ideally in the banking or financial sector. Hands on experience in the installation, configuration, tuning/sizing, clustering (Linux RedHat, MQ Cluster, MQ Multi-instance, deployment and problem resolution of WebSphere WAS and IBM MQ components and Apache Kafka. Experience in Java Development, nice to have. Ability to use or develop tools to automate maintenance, configuration changes, password changes, deployments, and migrations of WebSphere Middleware components. Ability to install and configure WebSphere Application servers, MQ servers and IBM Integration Bus (IIB). Perform MQ System Management, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Experience in TLS communication, Excellent Unix (IBM AIX / Linux RHEL) experience; proficiency in Shell scripting. Previous experience providing IT support in a 24-hour operational environment preferred. Hands-on experience with Open-Source Software like Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Ansible, Tomcat-jetty-SpringBoot (MicroService), NGINX-Apache, CI/CD Tools like XLDeploy.
