Job description
The Institute of Mechatronic Systems invites applications for the position of a Doctoral Candidate (m/f/d) in Mechatronic Systems (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 100 %) starting as soon as possible. The position is initially limited to three years, with the possibility of extension to enable the completion of a doctorate.
The Institute of Mechatronic Systems (imes) performs research on design, optimization and control of complex mechatronic systems and comprises three research groups: Robotics & Autonomous Systems, Identification & Control and Medical Technology & Image Processing. It is committed to excellence in research and teaching and to the active promotion of young scientists.
Responsibilities and duties
As part of a highly motivated and collaborative team, you will be involved in current research and teaching activities at the institute including the following responsibilities and activities.
Research:
You will develop new methods and algorithms within the scope of
You will apply and further develop these methods in challenging automotive, robotic, or biomedical systems. You will publish and present your scientific results at international recognized conferences and in journals.
Teaching:
As part of the team, you will support the institute’s teaching activities on the Bachelor’s and Master’s level, including the organization and improvement of teaching courses, holding exercises and laboratories as well as supervision of Bachelor’s and Master’s theses.

Additional desirable qualifications include: prior knowledge in machine learning or systems and control theory; prior knowledge in rapid prototyping, electronics, construction of a test bench; experience in writing scientific publications, grant writing, or in teaching and advising students.
