Your tasks: For the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Life Science Technologies and other courses, we are looking for a person who is committed to representing the fields of general, analytical and organic chemistry in a practice-oriented manner.
You will conduct lectures, tutorials and practicals in the field of basic education and help shape the research activities of the department, for example in the affiliated Institute for Life Science Technologies ILT.NRW.
Furthermore, you promote innovative and interdisciplinary study and communication formats for multidisciplinary teaching and for the dialog between science and society. This may include, in particular, interdisciplinary student projects and may involve, if possible, several departments. 25% of your teaching is provided as digital teaching, if required, to enable cross-location events.
You identify with the university's supervision concept, which requires a high presence of the lecturers at the university location and the willingness to take on self-administrative task at the university. You offer your courses in German. In addition, you are qualified to conduct courses in English.
Your profile: You have a degree in chemistry and obtained a doctorate in this field, preferably with an analytical topic. In addition, several years of experience in an industrial or industry-related non-university environment is desirable.
You enjoy teaching students and want to teach them the basics of general and organic chemistry. Ideally, you have already gained teaching experience in the relevant subject area and would like to contribute to courses for various degree programmes. You will be able to teach courses in both German and English, have a particular interest in teaching and have above-average communication skills.
You are interested in contributing your expertise to the research activities of the department.
You have a high level of social competence and participate in the department and the academic self-administration.
