Job Purpose/Role
Allianz X is the digital investment unit of the Allianz Group. We invest in digital growth companies that are part of the ecosystems related to insurance. Our goal is to identify and invest in the best digital frontrunners that are strategically relevant for the Allianz Group. We provide an interface between portfolio companies and the digital ecosystem within Allianz as well as drive innovation across Allianz’s operating entities and global lines of business.
Key Responsibilities
Allianz X’s Finance team operates in close partnership with the Allianz X’ platform and acquisitions team as well as the other Operations functions of Allianz X. The key functions of the Finance team are investment controlling activities and accounting related topics for our portfolio companies including transaction support. Further, the team is also responsible for the process for quarterly valuations of the portfolio investments and corporate accounting.
As Finance intern, you will be involved in the daily investment controlling and accounting activities including regular and ad-hoc analyses as well as supporting the quarterly valuation of our portfolio companies including among others:
Quantitative and qualitative analysis of portfolio companies’ performance
Quarterly valuation of portfolio companies using standard methods including DCF and multiples
Preparation of financial reports for stakeholder and senior management purposes
Monthly & quarterly support of reporting and closing activities
Operational steering of a reporting automatization project in SAP
Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
Qualification
Passion for investments, innovative business models and digitalization
Thorough understanding of financial statements
Fluent in English, German is a plus
Microsoft Office skills (especially PowerPoint and Excel)
Excellent proven academic record
Bachelor in Business Administration/Economics or other relevant fields (e.g. computer science or physics), Master preferred
Experience & Key Skills
Experience in controlling and corporate finance, accounting is a plus
Ability to quickly grasp, analyze and evaluate complex topics
Ability to execute projects of varying urgency and scope with high degree of autonomy
Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate in a clear, well-structured manner, also towards senior management
Affinity to figures
Strong social skills and cultural awareness
High degree of accuracy and sensitivity in working on key strategic tasks
