Job description
We are looking for a principal analyst to reinforce our Sustainability and D&I (SDI) team and spearhead initiatives in data enablement, governance, and quality for strategic and reporting use cases. As a pivotal figure in our team, you will foster a productive community among analysts, provide strategic direction, and ensure continuous alignment with best practices. Your expertise will be critical in managing data-related risks and establishing new strategic key performance indicators (KPIs) for the organization. The role will have to define the strategic direction of the group Portfolio CSRD project in line with Zalando Data strategy. If you have prior leadership experience, we can set up this role as a team lead where you will be in charge of the SDI Data & Analytics team comprising 2 headcounts.

You’ll set and prioritize data and analytics goals, ensuring the Sustainability Data Platform and related products are maintained in alignment with industry best practices and long-term objectives.
You’ll oversee data governance, quality assurance, and audit processes to uphold the integrity and reliability of sustainability metrics and reporting.
You’ll spearhead data enablement projects for new reporting requirements, managing risks and providing expert advice to optimize data utilization and compliance.
You’ll drive the establishment and governance of strategic performance indicators, ensuring clarity in definition, methodology, and data support.
You’ll actively participate in enhancing data quality through automation and integration of external data sources, with a focus on critical sustainability metrics.
For candidates with prior team lead experience, you’ll lead and develop a high-performing team focused on innovation in sustainability and diversity & inclusion, fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
You have a background in data analysis, science, engineering, or similar.
You convince with your experience in data governance and quality, particularly in sustainability and diversity.
You have great leadership skills with a knack for fostering innovation and development.
You come with strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities.
You have great knowledge of data platform management and audit processes.
You are proficient in data quality tools and KPI development is preferred.
