We are looking for a Finance & Accounting Analyst to join our team at Mika!
As a core team member of the finance team, you will join a dynamic environment and work with cross-functional teams to help run, develop and optimize finance activities.
As our first Finance & Accounting Analyst, you will have a direct impact on helping thousands of cancer patients on their treatment journey across several markets. You will join our Finance & Operations department, you will work right next to our Head of Finance & Operations and will have continuous exchange with the People & Culture as well as Compliance team, both part of the FinOps department!
What we would like you to bring with
- You have 2+ years of relevant professional experience in a start-up, in-house, or external accounting firm preferably in an international environment
- Strong understanding of preparatory accounting processes and financial controls
- You have extensive knowledge of German HGB
- You have ideally worked with some finance tools already and have familiarity with other ERP softwares as well.
- You possess technical skills in data processing exercises, including data cleaning techniques and automation using macros
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English - German is a requirement .
- You have strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and you enjoy working with data
- Ownership mentality, financial savviness, creativity, and drive to get things done define some of your professional mindset.
- You are a self-starter with a track record of independently leading new initiatives
- You bring a passion for working and learning in a fast-growing, mission-focused business
- Knowledge of international accounting standards, e.g. IFRS and US GAAP is a plus

What you will be doing
- Record business transactions in compliance with the German Commercial Code (HGB) using various tools and manage preparatory accounting for German entity
- Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and asset accounting
- Execute ongoing accounting tasks, including communication with national and international customers and suppliers
- Maintain and reconcile accounts
- Generate payment proposal lists and process incoming/outgoing payments
- Oversee the dunning procedure, managing outstanding receivables and the dunning system
- Coordinate debt collection activities, including preparing and submitting invoice data and corresponding with debt collection agencies
- Manage the end-to-end process of invoice processing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies
- Facilitate expense reimbursement processes, payroll processing activities, and management of outgoing invoices
- Implement efficient systems for tracking and managing financial transactions to streamline preparatory accounting activities
- Working with our external tax accountants, support the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements for our German parent company and subsidiaries, including equity accounting
- Support the Head of Finance & Operations and the executive team with ad-hoc inquiries
- Support the continuous improvement of our Finance & Accounting processes and policies
- Act as the day to day contact for our external tax advisor
- Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders, providing financial insights and support as needed
