Your Tasks:
As part of a DFG-funded project, we are looking for dedicated PhD students to use the latest methods of bulk and single-cell ATAC-seq analysis to identify and characterize epigenetic mechanisms to understand the phenomenon of fetal programming in chickens. Environmental influences lead to permanent, partially heritable changes in gene activity and resilience traits. This molecular memory is based on epigenetic changes in the genome. In our project, the bioinformatics integration of omics data, metabolic and physiological measurements will be used to investigate the effects of variable incubation temperatures in broilers and layers to improve the productive adaptability of the animals.
