Task s and responsibilities
As a Mass Spectrometry (MS) Expert, you will be responsible for designing, planning, developing, establishing , and implementing methods for mass spectrometric analysis of proteins and glycans and applying these methods in client projects as an expert.
- Determination of total mass of proteins, mass and sequence of peptides for verification of peptide mappings and further characterization
- Determination of post-translational modifications (PTMs) and chemical degradation
- Determination of the mass of complex glycans from glycoproteins and released glycans after labeling
- Identification of product- and process-related impurities like HCPs
- Extension of the method spectrum to new fields of application and new modalities
- MS-based support of development laboratories and quality control in establishing methods for protein and glycan analysis
- Support and procurement of equipment
- Consultant for internal and external customers for MS-based questions
- Preparation of work instructions, reports and presentations preferably in English for discussion with internal and external customers
- Responsibility for the technical management of 1-2 employees in the MS team
What is important to us
- Degree in L ife S ciences (chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, etc ) preferably with PhD, or several years of industrial experience within biopharmaceutical field s
- Extensive knowledge and in-depth qualifications in the field of high-resolution mass spectrometry (ESI-HRMS) of proteins and glycans analogous to the mentioned tasks and a profound qualification with HPLC of proteins and glycans
- Profound knowledge in the use of MS data analysis software like Protein Metrics software
- Basic knowledge of data integrity
- Proficient in MS-Office programs
- Fluency in the German and English language
- Collaborative communication is one of your strengths
- Scientifically curious and analytical thinking
- Team player and a very high level of initiative and organizational skills
