The VBL, based in Karlsruhe, is Germany's largest supplementary pension scheme for public sector employees and looks after around 5.1 million insured persons and around 1.5 million pensioners.
For the Executive Board Staff department, we are looking for a
Information Security Engineering Officer (m/f/d)
The Information Security unit is responsible for information security management at VBL with a team of security experts. The unit covers the entire area from the development of security requirements to support and advice on the implementation of measures through to auditing and awareness-raising in order to meet the challenges in this area appropriately.
Your tasks
- You will accompany IT projects in terms of security engineering by supporting the analysis and conception of secure architectures as well as the security-related evaluation of specifications.
- You recommend appropriate security measures and good practice procedures to reduce the attack surface.
- They establish secure development processes through the further development of security guidelines for all lifecycle phases.
- You work on threat modeling and risk analyses.
- You will teach methods and techniques from the field of security engineering and carry out security exercises and awareness training.
Your profile
- You have a university degree, preferably in computer science with a focus on information security or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- You have very good expertise in the field of security engineering including relevant standards / practices (for example OWASP Top 10, SAMM, ASVS).
- You bring your strong knowledge of general IT and network concepts as well as modern web technologies combined with proven IT security in these areas.
- You have experience in software development.
- You have knowledge of relevant security and industry standards (BSI IT-Grundschutz, VAIT, DORA) and technical guidelines of the BSI.
- You have very good analytical skills to recognize complex issues and develop solutions
- You are characterized by creativity when developing security solutions.
- You have organizational talent and negotiating skills
- You are a team player, work independently and enjoy consulting.
- You have very good communication skills in both written and spoken German and English.
