Non-Management JOB SUMMARY Assists in the development and implementation of strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the Shared Service Centre customer and employees. Providing commercial financial expertise and support to the German Owned/ Leased hotel teams in achieving Balance Scorecard targets, managing owner relation and assists in leading the implementation of business change ensuring the successful utilization of discipline strategies and brand initiates while maximizing the return on investment to Marriott International. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting or related major; 2-year experience in the finance and accounting or related professional.
OR
- Experience in hospitality and related systems preferred such as Oracle.

Proving Financial Information and Guidance to Others - Advises the SSC Director of Finance on existing and evolving operating/financial issues.
- Communicates financial concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand and drives desired behaviors.
- Ensure accounting service provided to hotels is delivered consistently and accurately, working in partnership with hotels in meeting key deadlines particularly around budgeting and month end to support ongoing business needs of the hotels.
- Supports all Hotel Directors of Finance/ Assistant Controller throughout the month end, to ensure monthly P+Ls are completed timely and accurately for the Shared Service.
- Supports highlighting opportunities to develop the Shared Service Centre further, in support of the hotels. Continually evaluate areas of opportunity for a centralized services approach.
- Ensures all entities related to Shared Services are in compliance with all statutory requirements in Finance/ Accounting.
- Provides information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
- Work with UK SSC to allocate tasks between German and UK SSCs to support the hotels in the most efficient manner.
- Ensure billing processes are maintained in accordance with existing agreements and approved allocation methodologies.
Managing Projects and Policies - Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
- Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Compiles, codes, categorizes, calculates, tabulates, audits, or verifies information or data.
- Supports the SSC Director of Finance in ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations for hotels are prepared and reconciled in a timely and consistent manner, in line with SOPs and agreed procedures.
- Supports the SSC Director of Finance in leading and facilitating all projects related to Finance Shared Service
- Verifies compliance with standard and local operating procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).
- Reviews audit issues and makes corrections as necessary.
- Leverages centralized accounting processes and shared services (e.g., Marriott Business Services).
- Works with Operational finance teams, proactively to further develop systems and processes which drive consistency and creates synergies for all hotels participating in the service.
Assisting in Management of Accounting Team - Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
- Monitors internal, external and regulatory audit processes.
- Verifies that regular on-going communication occurs with associates to create awareness of business objectives, communicate expectations, and recognize performance.
- Ensure all team members are technically proficient in all systems, and that training and development of team members is a key priority.
- Celebrates successes by publicly recognizing the contributions of team members.
- Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with associates.
- Verifies associates establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships within their team.
- Participates in the associate performance appraisal process, providing feedback as needed.
- Verifies disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and support the Peer Review Process.
- Verifies property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
- Utilizes an "open door" policy.
- Solicits associate feedback.
Maintaining Finance and Accounting Goals - Submits reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines.
- Achieves and exceeds goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
- Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
- Monitors all taxes that apply, ensuring that taxes are current, collected and/or accrued.
- Supports a strong accounting & operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations and profitability and manage business risks.
- Reviews audit issues to verify accuracy.
Other - Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs as well as to ensure teamwork.
