The Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, Germany, is one of the world’s leading institutes in condensed matter research. The International Max Planck Research School for Condensed Matter Science (IMPRS-CMS) supports young scientists at the institute. The coordinator of the IMPRS-CMS is seeking an Assistant (f/m/div) (50%) This position will offer a good opportunity for entry into science management. It will initially be based on a two-year contract starting as soon as possible. Your tasks: Administrative support for the IMPRS-CMS: day-to-day e-mail correspondence in English and German, certificates, database and alumni, compiling statistics Support for the enrolment at the University of Stuttgart Maintenance and support for the online application procedure for master and PhD students Co-organization of events, such as the annual retreat meeting and summer / winter schools Regular administration of the IMPRS-CMS website in the Max Planck content management system Link to the institute’s administration: travel costs, invoices, refunds, inventory, etc. Your profile: Bachelor’s degree Excellent command of written and spoken English and German Proficiency in standard software; experience with CMS is beneficial Open-mindedness, you should enjoy working in an international scientific environment Good organizational and structural skills Ability to work independently as well as in a team Our offer: The IMPRS-CMS at our institute is part of a Max Planck Society wide network of more than 60 graduate schools throughout Germany.
