The company
adwäisEO is a fast-growing company, leader in the sector of it services related to the Space Ground Segment. Its clients are Space Agencies (i.e. ESA and Luxembourg Space Agency), public space organization (i.e. Mercator, Copernicus) and private companies. Among our projects: the biggest collaborative ground segment of Europe ( and the Data Archival, Management and Processing Services (DAMPS) for ESA ( ) that covers together the 80 % of ESA EO data, the systematic production of Sentinel-3A data and the reprocessing of Sentinel 2, so far the biggest reprocessing of the history.
The company owns a relevant infrastructure with reference disk storage capacity of 68 PB and a computing cluster with almost 1 Petaflops capacity. In order to meet the needs of its clients the infrastructure hosts multiple kinds of environment ranging from dedicated HPC solution to multi-hybrid cloud solutions.
The position
To strengthen its “ IT Infrastructure ” department, adwäisEO SA is looking for a talented IT Architect / IT Lead for the activities related to production, archiving and dissemination of Earth Observation Data.
She/he will work closely with the CTO and contribute to the maintenance and development of the IT infrastructure both of the company and of specific project related ones. She/he will be also in charge of the company IT team.
Must Have Requirements
• Degree in Computer Science or similar;
• 5+ years of experience in a similar position;
• 5+ years of experience with complex infrastructures;
• Good command of infrastructure and networking virtualization, VMware based;
• Good Command of Linux Environment;
• Good command of Active Directory;
• Good command of networking (CISCO and DELL);
• Good command of infrastructure backup tools (i.e. VEEAM);
• Good command of monitoring tools (Nagios, Observium, SolarWinds);
• Command of Firewalling (Checkpoint preferred);
• Command of principles of security;
• Experience of administration of Kubernetes cluster;
• Fluent in English;
• Strong team working skills but also able to work alone;
• Team leadership
• Proactive
• Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
• Valid work permit for EU
Nice To Have Requirements
• French knowledge;
• Experience with on cloud infrastructures on premises (e.g. VCloud Director or OpenStack).
