Job description

The Accounting Manager is part of the Finance team and will be the first teammate to step into Sellpy’s German accounting operations.

We currently outsource our German accounting operations, but we cannot wait to add a fantastic colleague with this expertise to our Finance team. You will work from our office in Berlin and perform day-to-day accounting tasks as well as participate in larger projects within your field. We ideally see that you are experienced in independently performing daily bookkeeping and that you bring a hunger to gradually take on challenges you haven’t tried before. We believe greatness happens in teams which means you will be supported by colleagues and when needed, an external accounting partner.

We look forward to seeing you grow in your role and together continuously improve and perfect the German accounting function of Sellpy.

In short, you will:

• Work with Sellpy’s German bookkeeping.
• Create journal entries, including depreciation, bank reconciliation entries, cost accruals, and amortizations.
• Participate in the insourcing project in Germany.
• Learn while taking part in the ERP change from Datev to Netsuite.
• Support with VAT declarations and other relevant filings for the German entity.
• Participate in annual audits and prepare financial statements for the German entity.
• Support budgeting/forecasting processes and budget reviews.
• Assist in the monthly group reporting.

You need:

• A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience working with accounting in a German legal entity, including tasks such as journal entries, audits, VAT filings, and working with the full income statement and balance sheet.
• Proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets.
• Advanced communication skills in German and English, both verbally and in writing.
• An analytical mindset, great attention to detail and a continuous drive to improve processes.
• To be comfortable working in a high-growth company and facing new challenges we haven’t met before.

Location:

You are welcome to do all these things either at our new office at Kreuzberg in Berlin, and from home. We are a Swedish company and you will have the opportunity to visit and if you desire, also work from the office in Stockholm.
