Duration: 6 months

Master Thesis Work: Development of a System Model for and Aircraft Air Conditioning System. Within the scope of the master thesis, a System Model based on Dymola/Modelica for the Air Conditioning System of an A350 aircraft will be developed and the System operation simulated. The planned activities include:
Familiarization with the design and operation of an Airbus Air Conditioning System.
Built up an Air Conditioning pack model in Dymola/Modelica based on Airbus In-House Libraries including any needed updates of the Libraries.
Comparison of the model behavior with data from the real aircraft system and model results from the equipment supplier.
Simulation and Performance analysis for various aircraft operating scenarios.
Establishment of a post-processing setup.
Documentation.
Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) within Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace or similar field of study .
Knowledge of Aerodynamics and Thermodynamics.
First experience with Modeling & Simulation tools (Object oriented / preferably Dymola/Modelica).
Interest in Turbomachinery (Compressor, Turbines,...).
Interest in Numerical Methods, Modelling and Programming.
English: Fluent.
