Job description

At the Fraunhofer IPT, the »Precision Technology and Automation« department is concerned, among other things, with the thermal stabilization of machine tools and robots in production. The aim here is the further development and optimization of production machines and processes. With the help of sensor-based assistance systems and artificial intelligence (e.g. artificial neural networks), reliable predictions about the machine condition are to be made. The areas of application include the detection and prediction of thermally induced displacements, which often lead to defective components and poor surface quality.
